CONTRACTUAL AGENT, FG III
This is to inform you that the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament is looking for a full-time
Political Attaché to support the work of the Greens/EFA Working Groups on Digital issues (fixed-term
contractual agent contract of a year function group III).
Starting date: as soon as possible
Tasks to be performed:
COORDINATION
Providing Digital WG members with timely information about draft motions for resolutions
touching upon digital policy;
Efficient monitoring and tracking of digital policy developments across the Committees and
regularly updating the Digital Working Group on those;
Organisation of the Digital Working group in close contact with responsible MEPs and
relevant staff members in accordance with the working group’s working methods;
Organisation of events for the Digital Working Group in accordance with the working group’s
working methods;
Responsible for the horizontal, cross-committee coordination of digital files.
CONTENT
Advising group members and coordinators in different Committees on questions related to the
digital policy, preparing amendments and resolutions as they arise;
Upon request, writing policy papers on internet policies in close cooperation with staff from
other Committees, support MEPs & staff in drawing up reports digital policies;
Liaison with NGOs active in the field of digital policy; information of the group on relevant
debates held in the internet community and the wider society;
Liaison and negotiation with Commission and Council, preparation and follow-up of
conciliation and trialogue meetings;
Contributing content and strategy to the Group’s campaigning and media work in relation to
digital policies;
Qualification and experience required
Very good knowledge of the European institutions, EU legislation and decision-making
process;
Good negotiating skills;
Excellent level of English – other languages are an asset;
At least 3 years working experience in line with the function;
Educational background or other background in line with the function is an asset;
Knowledge about ongoing and upcoming legislation in the digital policy area in the European
Union;
A wide network of contacts among NGOs and Academia in the field of Digital Policy;
Experience in a political environment and a multicultural surrounding; knowledge of the
Greens/EFA political positions;
Open-mindedness, communicative attitude and experience in working in a political
administration and in a multi-cultural team;
Be a good team-worker and ready to work flexible hours and joining missions.
Under article 12 (2) of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS) of the European
Communities, candidates must:
Be citizen of an EU Member State unless an exception is authorised by the authority referred
to in article 6 (1);
Enjoy full rights as citizen;
Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;
Meet the character requirements for the duties involved.
