Czech post-election situation update

-new photos – paid from GEA, everyone agreed, Tomas will plan it
-social media presentation – increasing of AVE, Tomas is offering a social media workshop/presentation – analysis of social media, exchange of best practices, agreed by all MEPs
-Public opinion research – same as the last year, will be done again
-another press trip – last press trip increased AVE, timing is up toTomas and PR teams (have to be coordinated and kept in mind COVID situation and Government forming in DE and CZ), agreed by MEPs
-PR intern for Tomas – can be discussed after the budget evaluation and setting up of the priorities

   • we could think of adding the Internal Market to the sectors that are covered. Many of the solutions needed for the just transition will be technological and online-based, requiring data-sharing and cross-border online interactions. We need to get these solutions right, with the appropriate default principles in their design, and make sure we leave no one behind.

   • therefore the paper should acknowledge the importance of privacy, data protection, digital skills, fundamental rights online, media literacy etc. It should acknowledge that some of the just transition solutions will be based on the use of artificial intelligence and that it must be ethical and transparent

   • Mikulas’ team will provide comments later on

European Pirate Party have elected new leadership with Mikuláš re-elected as a party chairperson.
Nominations of Julian Assange for the Nobel Peace Prize supported by all delegates
Outcome of this discussion to be communicated to the national party
Greek delegation called on the proper implementation of Whistleblower Directive in the Member States. The party decided to take further steps in this regard.
Ongoing discussion on the rules on membership, in regards to the parties not including “pirate” explicitly in its official name.
Next meeting to be held in May or June 2022, agenda to be discussed in advance and guidelines to be prepared for next delegate

• Wednesday Group meeting: Evaluation of the vote on the EP-President & the EP Bureau and the strategic discussion for the follow-up.
o We will start the meeting at 10:00 in the usual Group-Plenary via the EP's interactio system with an introduction by Philippe.
o For the second part of the meeting, MEPs will for a period of 15-20 minutes, split up into Groups of four which allows for an exchange on the election on the President and the Vice-Presidents in a smaller setting. The discussions in these small Groups will for technical reasons take place on Zoom (a link will be shared closer to the meeting) and MEPs will be assigned to the different Groups in a randomized manner. Interpretation will be provided only for certain dedicated discussion groups (a separate link will be sent to the MEPs concerned).
o For the third part, the meeting will resume in the ordinary format, via the EP system, open for the staff of the Group as well as APAs, focusing on the strategic discussion looking ahead.
