Obrátil se na mě mab (Mattias Bjärnemalm) s dotazem na Mladé piráty
já jsem mu odpovědělaIs there any way for you to get state funding for a youth wing for the party now when you are in parliament?
The young pirates of europe will have conference in geneva 15-21 december in connection to the UN Internet Governance Forum that is held there 18-21. Fully paid travel and accommodation by the Council of Europe and Julias office in the EP. Would be great to get some czech pirates involved"
a on ještě dovysvětlilhey there mab, sorry i didnt get to you earlier..![]()
i will put this on our forums and we'll see if anyone is interested. our young pirates kind of died out (the organisation, not the people)..
my opinion: I kind of dont really believe in youth organisations anymore.. i think we should be more inclusive even considering age groups. (i know there are financial benefits for youth organisations in many countries, but its not the case in czechia.. and i would also not welcome the age segregation to happen just because its financially beneficial)
otázka zní zhruba: co na to tak říkáme? chceme se jako strana rozrůstat i tímhle směrem, nebo to (zatím) není v plánu? ráda odpovím, ale neznám stranickou pozici.. tož asi diskutujmeI agree that one should not use a youth organisation to segregate. But you can use it to actually be inclusive. Say that your Foundation is doing a one day workshop on dataprotection and invites some expert speakers with the aim of educating the members of the party.
Now if coordinated with a youth wing that organisation could then, at the same time, organise an european training weekend for youth at the same venue and by doing so inviting up to 50 young pirates from 5 countries or more and pay 70% of their travel costs (including czech young pirates traveling from other parts of the country) and for their accomodation and food. Thus allowing not only your event to get visitors from other young pirate organisations, but also ensureing that czech young pirates that would otherwise not have had the chance to attend can do so.
Cause even if there is no czech funding for youth organisations there is still the option as a czech youth organisation to apply for EU-funding for these kinds of events.
A czech youth wing can also register as a youth volonteer organisation, which would allow other youth wings to send volonteers to come and help you out with campaigning for up to 6 month at a time. Paid for by the EU.
So sure, there is always the risk that a youth wing will segregate the movement. But that is not necessarily the case. In sweden the young pirates have been part of the backbone of all our election campaigns.
